About Our Host:
Mindenegyüttmegy Association

The Mindenegyüttmegy Association (MEGY) is our generous host for this year’s European Ecovillage Gathering and we share the excitement of co-creating the Gathering in the Eastern European region.

This year MEGY also celebrates 10 years anniversary as they have been actively building communities since 2015 through their annual “Gyüttment Festival” which translates to ‘Movers Festival’. The meaning, and the core of their festival embraces and redefines the Hungarian term “gyüttment” (meaning “come-and-go”) to positively represent people working toward ecological paradigm shifts. They are dedicated to supporting individuals and families who have chosen sustainable and regenerative lifestyle patterns through rural relocation, self-sufficient farming, renewable energy use, and urban community initiatives.

MEGY’s vision centers on creating a natural, sustainable, and happy world to replace today’s unsustainable consumption patterns. They strive to promote:

  • The development of small rural and urban communities implementing complete lifestyle changes
  • Environmental ethics and sustainable living practices in both countryside and city settings
  • Collection and sharing of knowledge supporting the necessity for ecological transition
  • Accessibility to healthy, clean food for as many people as possible
  • Local resource management and economic strengthening through rural communities
  • Community-building and the principle of volunteering

Through their zero-waste Movers Festival, MEGY demonstrates their commitment to practical environmental solutions, using compostable materials, local seasonal products, and community-based approaches to sustainability – these practices will be brought to this year’s Gathering as well.

Together, we see this Gathering as a powerful opportunity to strengthen the ecovillage movement in Eastern Europe while enriching our collective understanding through diverse regional perspectives. By combining MEGY’s deep local knowledge with GEN’s global network, we’re creating a space where meaningful connections and exchanges can flourish, inspiring regenerative solutions that transcend borders and nurture our shared vision for a regenerative future.

About the Venue:
Manas Garden

Manas Garden is an experimental project launched at the end of 2021 in Lengyeltóti, aiming to develop and test new ecological cohabitation patterns on 80 hectares of land. It operates under the principles of regenerative development, deeply integrating the ethics of permaculture into its realization. The shared values of Manas Garden is to establish an educational, research, and event space while achieving large-scale habitat and environmental rehabilitation. Manas Garden is one of the largest permaculture projects in Hungary. In 2024, it was an excellent venue for the Gyüttment Festival organized by Mindenegyüttmegy Association.
